A native of Colorado, Hopkins graduated from Colorado State University with an MFA in
Printmaking in 2007. While her preferred medium is painting and
drawing, she is deeply influenced by her printmaking background. She
endeavors to bring the unique qualities of surface, texture, and light
that are particular to printmaking into other mediums. Through varying
subjects, Hopkins explores themes deeply rooted in the human condition
such as mortality, suffering and transcendence. The work searches for a level of acceptance and resolution with
what it means to be human.
